Bitti Spears grew up in Hamilton Massachusetts, graduated from Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School in 1978, and earned a BFA in painting from UMass Amherst in 1982. She spent 3 years as artist, mainly oils, in Charleston, South Carolina, then left Charleston to sail the Caribbean in a fiftyyear-old wooden schooner. In 1990, Bitti returned to New England, and resumed her careers as a graphic artist, Painter, Potter, dog whisperer, hobie cat racer, and downhill ski racer. Today, she lives near the ocean in North Hampton New Hampshire with her husband Dan, son Michael and black lab Koby. I have been making pottery since I was 15. I have had my own pottery studio for more than 25 years. I use a white stoneware clay that fires to cone 6. It is microwave and dishwasher safe..
